Tight Tilt Goes to Herons, 4-2
|
The Glendale Herons stymied the Springfield Shooters, 4-2, at Heron Field. Daniel Maldonado, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles for Glendale. Ma Hon Keung picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 6-3. The 'W' lifts Glendale's record to 18-27.
Glendale grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when Maldonado, who is tied for 10th in the 3AA in home runs with 6, hit a solo home run. His 6th home run put the Herons out in front, 2-1.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Springfield manager Jacob Green.
