The Ottawa Nationals picked up a win at Nationals Park, knocking off the Richland Rails, 3-2. Starting pitcher Preston Connely was an essential part of his team's success. Ottawa has now won 4 games in a row.
Duane Wills provided some late-game heroics for Ottawa. In the bottom of the 11th inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 1-0 fastball from Maxwell Simon and propelled Ottawa to a 3-2 lead.
"It's a mindset," said Connely. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
