The Richland Rails beat the Casper Ghosts, 9-2, at Rails Ballpark. The Rails got a fine performance from center fielder Fernando Granados, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The 8th-place Rails improved to 17-16.
Granados came through with some timely hitting for Richland. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the second and one down, Granados hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was his 36th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Rails managed to win.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Karim Moulin.
