Ghosts Come Up Short at Richland
|
Richland Rails starter Gary Kellenberger was in fine form against the Casper Ghosts at Rails Ballpark, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Richland reliever Maxwell Simon was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Earl Simmons took the loss for Casper. Earning his 2nd save for Richland was Bartolo Ramírez.
It could have been a different outcome for Richland, had it not been for Armando Peña, the 24-year old second baseman . Peña contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning to put Richland up, 3-2.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Peña told the Richland Herald.
The Rails bumped their record to 16-15 with this latest triumph.
