Belvedere Park beat Glendale at Heron Field, eking out a 7-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Alexis Zambaco, who earned player of the game honors. In 5.1 innings, Zambaco surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The Rawhides saw their win-loss record go to 13-12. At the same time, the Herons fall to 9-16.
It could have been a different outcome for Belvedere Park, had it not been for Dan O'Day, the 23-year old center fielder . O'Day contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Belvedere Park up, 1-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Zambaco.
