Thunder Hawks Pull Back to Even with 8-6 Victory
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks stopped the Myrtle Beach Mermen, 8-6, at Tennille Grounds. The Thunder Hawks got a big game from José Morín, who went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Norberto Ramírez, who threw 115 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 6 runs on 8 hits. The defending champion Thunder Hawks have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 10-10 with the win.
Jesús Amador drove in one run against the Mermen. In the top of the first inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run, putting Ft. Polk South in front, 1-0.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Amador.
