Rails Saddle Deuces with 7-2 Loss
|
Rails second baseman Armando Peña put his stamp on his team's 7-2 win over the Virginia Beach Deuces. Peña was 3 for 3 with 2 triples and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Richland in the contest. With their winning streak at 4, the Richland Rails have raced to a strong start this season.
Richland grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when Peña, who leads the 3AA in triples with 3, hit a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple put the Rails out in front, 3-1.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Peña told the Richland Herald.
