Rails Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Richland Rails, 5-3, in M3L Double A action at Rails Ballpark. The player of the game was Ft. Polk South pitcher and San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic native César Vásquez. In 7.1 innings, Vásquez surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Jack Ward earned the save, his 1st.
With one out in the top of the sixth, Jorge Flores barreled up a circle change from Bart Gresham. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Thunder Hawks in front, 5-1.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Flores said.
The Thunder Hawks have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 3 games.
