Ricardo Cardenas left his imprint on the 7-5 Casper win against the Chesapeake Continentals. Cardenas, who is tied for 9th in the SAA in doubles with 19, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Casper now owns a record of 39-63.
The most crucial at-bat for Casper came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Cardenas stroked a first pitch cutter to left for a 2-run home run, putting Casper up, 7-5.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Casper Ghosts manager Joe Young. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
