Blue Sox Fall Short, 6-3, at Marquette

The Marquette Miners downed the Irving Blue Sox, 6-3, at Marquette Stadium. Norman Winston led the way, going 2-for-3 for Marquette. Marquette reliever Rafael Martínez was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Paco Hernández took the loss. Marquette now has a 3-game win streak.
Winston came through with some timely hitting for Marquette. With the score 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth and two down, Winston hit a 1-1 slider for a 2-run single. It was his 70th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Miners managed to win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Winston told the Marquette Today.
