Continentals Knock Off San Antonio at San Antonio Field
|
Chesapeake used a superb performance from starting pitcher Maxime Janssens to down the San Antonio BC, 5-1. Janssens was the winning pitcher and moves to 9-7. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Pedro Silva was credited with the save for Chesapeake, his 4th of the season.
In the top of the third, Marcos Alfaro hit a 2-run double for Chesapeake. The 3rd double of the season for the Chesapeake third baseman put the Continentals on top, 2-0.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Alfaro. "Those qualities define our team."
The Continentals go to 34-36, putting them 6th in the Silver AA.
