Rawhides Win at Lancaster, 2-1
|
The Belvedere Park Rawhides topped the Lancaster Farmers, 2-1, in USSL Double A action at Farmers Field. The player of the game was Belvedere Park pitcher and Oildale, California native Damien Scudder. Dino Moonglampers, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save. Their 31-24 record puts the Rawhides third in the Silver AA.
In the top of the 7th, left fielder José Pérez gave Belvedere Park the lead when he hit a 2-run triple. The Rawhides had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out triple off Lancaster pitcher Alejandro López changed that -- and Belvedere Park went on to win.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Pérez told the Belvedere Park Chronicle.
