Continentals Bang Out 7-1 Win Versus Belvedere Park
|
The Chesapeake Continentals got a stellar performance from pitcher Javier Mena, who handcuffed the Belvedere Park offense en route to a 7-1 win at Field of the Rawhides. Jesús Colón recorded his 1st save for Chesapeake. Chesapeake has now won 3 in a row.
The Continentals beat the Rawhides in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Jouo Hirschovits produced in the top of the fourth. Batting against Belvedere Park pitcher Mathew Stewart, he gave his team a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Mena.
