Durham beat Lancaster, 7-6. The win in part was due to second baseman Orlando Montoya, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3-3 with 3 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times. Durham reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Raúl Nieto took the loss. The third-place Rapiers raised their record to 25-22.

The game came to an abrupt end with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Raúl Nieto, Sean Godron hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Durham the 7-6 walk-off win.
