Ghosts Beat Atoms in 11
|
Bethesda got a terrific performance from pitcher Jeren Kendall, but it wasn't enough to beat the Casper Ghosts. Casper won the Atoms Field contest, 3-2. Kendall was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner was Casper reliever Pompeyo Davalillo, now 2-2. The loser was Ashweather Cett. Jim Unknown earned the save for Casper, his 1st of the year.
Henry Appleby was a key contributor to the win for the Ghosts. In the top of the 11th with no one out, the light-hitting catcher stroked a single to right. He was 1 for 4.
"Exhilarating win," said Appleby.
Casper bumps their record to 12-23 with the win.
