Farmers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Rapiers
|
The Lancaster Farmers picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Durham Rapiers, 4-3. On the mound for Lancaster was right-hander Santiago López, who played a pivotal role in the win. Lancaster now sits at 14-12, while Durham falls to 11-15.
Jim Unknown was the walk-off hero for Lancaster. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Lancaster pinch hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said López. "Successful pitchers do it."
