Miners Topple BC with Late Rally
The Marquette Miners and San Antonio BC obliged those fans who came to San Antonio Field looking for a good time.

San Antonio got a terrific game from catcher Yoshihito Samurakami. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Marquette, 7-6. Samurakami was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Luis Ortíz earned the win for Marquette. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. Addick Lubbers earned his 2nd save in 2 tries.

Ramón Hernández contributed an important at-bat in the top of the eighth. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat that helped send Marquette to the win.

Hernández told the Marquette Today: "This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents. Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."

The win pushes Marquette to a record of 4-5.
