Atoms Come Up Short at Chesapeake
The Chesapeake Continentals picked up a win at Chesapeake Grounds, knocking off the Bethesda Atoms, 3-1. Starting pitcher Dave Stephenson was an essential part of his team's success. Greg Rook got the save, the 4th for him this season. The loss drops Bethesda to 3-4.

Early in the game, shortstop Lionel McCloud had a 2-run home run for Chesapeake. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Continentals on top, 2-0.

McCloud told a Chesapeake Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
