Continentals Get One-Run Win at Lancaster
|
Farmers Field was the site of a competitive game between the Lancaster Farmers and Chesapeake Continentals.
The Chesapeake Continentals picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Francisco Sandoval played a key role in the triumph. Losses have been rare for the Farmers, who are now 3-1.
Christian Hoover aided the Chesapeake cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher went 2-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Hoover told the Chesapeake Herald: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
