Neely Slams 5 Hits for Detroit Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025 Somedays you can't win for losing. Just ask Michael Neely. He was the King of Swing in the game against the Rangers, but his Renaissance were beaten 4-3 anyway. The Detroit designated hitter stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Austin and delivered 5 hits. It was a sensational game for him. He excitedly told the press, "Unbelieveable feeling. It felt great on the one hand, but a downer at the same time. 5-for-5! It does wonders for your batting average. But it's a shame we couldn't win it, too." Michael Neely singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Juan Valéncia in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
