New Amsterdam Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
|
The Wizarding Express got a stellar effort from pitcher Todd Hines, helped Wizarding score a 1-0 win over the visiting New Amsterdam Republics. Hines picked up the win for Wizarding, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-1. The Express saw their win-loss record go to 44-23. At the same time, the Republics fall to 20-47.
The Express beat the Republics in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Chi-ju Zhang produced in the bottom of the fourth. Batting against New Amsterdam pitcher António Hernández, he gave his team a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
Said Wizarding manager Dan Cahill: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
