Pedro Santos made an impact in the 6-3 Grafton win over Wizarding. Santos, who is tied for 8th in the SL with a .399 on-base percentage, was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Grafton reliever Truman Valentine was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Gabe Stephenson took the loss. The 5th-place Middies are now 30-30, the Express 41-19.
Grafton left fielder Ramón Gómez said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the eighth. He did more than that -- Gómez hit a 2-run home run to stake Grafton to a 5-3 lead. His 10th home run of the season came off Wizarding pitcher Jackson Haines.
"Good win for us," said Santos. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
