Wilkins, Austin Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Austin Rangers starter John Wilkins turned in a sterling performance against the New Amsterdam Republics, leading his team to a slim 1-0 win. Júlio Rodríguez was called on to finish, recording his 16th save. Austin is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Wilkins, who dominated for Austin, earned the victory to move to 7-4. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 3. New Amsterdam batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
