Loss to Hotspur Extends Chicago Losing Streak
|
Phoenix Hotspur starter Pedro Valdéz was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Chicago Gold Sox, 4-2. Phoenix reliever Jaime van de Weideven picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Jason Puckett absorbed the loss. The first-place Gold Sox have lost 8 consecutive games.
Phoenix took control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Rafael Sánchez hit a run-scoring double to make it 2-1, Hotspur.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Valdéz.
