The 1837 BBC had to overcome a good performance from Ft. Worth pitcher Nicholas Wells to claim a 3-2 win at The Cattle Pen. Wells went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Francisco Valdés finished to wrap up his 15th save. Houston now has a 5-game win streak.
Mark McClear had the most critical at-bat for Houston, coming in the top of the ninth inning with one out and a runner on 2nd. McClear hit a 0-1 curveball from Asher Spivey for a run-scoring single. It put Houston in front, 3-2.
"The vibe's good," said Houston manager Tyler Johnson. "We've got to keep it going."
