The Toledo Titans went home winners at Field of the Middies, thanks in large part to starter Víctor García. García silenced the Grafton Middies, enabling Toledo to grab the 7-1 win. García went 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-1. The Titans, at 15-26, sit in last place in the Division II.
Also making an impact was catcher Enrique Pérez, who drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the third for Toledo. For the game, Pérez was 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Pérez said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
