Multi-HR Game for Gómez in 4-1 Win

The Grafton Middies stymied the Wizarding Express, 4-1, at Field of the Middies. Ramón Gómez, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Grafton. António Marés picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 2 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 5-4. Lynwood Matos was called on to finish, recording his 12th save.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the first, when Gómez hit a 2-run home run. The Middies went on to win.
"We put together a nice win," Gómez said.
The Middies now own a record of 19-20.
