Pérez Belts Bunch of Base Hits
|
It was high-5 day at Dutch Master Park, at least for António Pérez of the New Amsterdam Republics. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Ft. Worth Cattlemen. Pérez smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 8-6 win.
His manager said, "António was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine."
António Pérez singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off Arinori Shibata in the 11th.
Looking at his present stats, Pérez has compiled a .250 batting average in 31 games with a .276 on-base percentage, while hitting 6 home runs and driving in 17 runs.
