With Chicago leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Ryan hit a cutter from Wayne Hurst for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Gold Sox ahead, 5-0.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Chicago Gold Sox manager Brett Reichert. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
