In a tight battle between the Grafton Middies and the Houston 1837 BBC, pitcher Wayne Hurst was in the zone. The Grafton right-hander was named the player of the game in Grafton's 2-0 win. Lynwood Matos closed the door for Grafton, picking up his 8th save of the year. The Middies now own a record of 13-14.

Hurst, who leaned on his slider, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 8.2 innings for the Middies. For the most part, Houston hitters were simply overmatched.
