Grafton first baseman Mario Ramos was sensational. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Houston beat the Middies, 4-3. Ramos was named the player of the game despite the loss. Edison Larson was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Houston is 16-10 and Grafton, with the loss, 12-14.

Brooklyn, New York-born Bob Dickerson came through in the clutch. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the 1837 BBC trailing 2-1, he hit a 3-run home run to left to put Houston on top.

"We've got a great group of guys," Dickerson said, "and we're having fun right now."
