Houston got an elite performance from starting pitcher Bob Warford in taking a 4-1 decision over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen. Houston reliever Francisco García was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Paul Díaz took the loss. Francisco Valdés earned his 9th save in 9 tries.

Late in the game, shortstop Kumanosuke Abe had a big at-bat for Houston. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Arinori Shibata. The play gave the 1837 BBC a 2-1 lead.
