Hotspur Win Again, Extend Streak to 7
|
The Phoenix Hotspur downed the Grafton Middies, 7-3, at Field of the Middies. Noel Ballard led the way, going 3-for-5 for Phoenix. Cory Sanders earned the win for Phoenix. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 3-1. Phoenix has run its win streak to 7 in a row.
Also doing his part was left fielder Gabriel Pérez, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth for Phoenix. For the game, Pérez was 1-6, while adding 2 RBI.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Pérez told the Phoenix Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
