Hotspur Take Down 1837 BBC, 7-5
|
The Phoenix Hotspur downed the Houston 1837 BBC, 7-5, at Houston Grounds. The Hotspur were led by Cale Sutton, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Scott William got credit for the save for Phoenix. It was his 6th of the year. The Phoenix Hotspur, now 12-6, have been playing some good baseball.
Phoenix grabbed the momentum in the top of the seventh, when Sutton, who is tied for 4th in the SL in triples with 1, hit a 2-run double. His 2nd double put the Hotspur out in front, 5-3.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Sutton told reporters after the game.
