The Chicago Gold Sox did just enough to secure a 8-3 victory over the Grafton Middies at Gold Sox Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Michael Fletcher, who captured player of the game honors. The Middies fall to 6-8 and continue their wobbly start to the 2025 season.

It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Eddie Flynn, the 25-year old catcher . Flynn contributed a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to put Chicago up, 4-2.

"Enjoyed this one," Fletcher told the Chicago Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
