Grafton withstood an impressive performance by Ft. Worth first baseman Bart Lewis to defeat the Cattlemen, 6-3, at Field of the Middies. Lewis was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Grafton starter Wayne Hurst was credited with the win after throwing 122 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. Lynwood Matos earned the save for Grafton, his 3rd of the year.

In the bottom of the second inning, first baseman Mario Ramos came through big-time for the Middies. With Grafton leading 2-0, he belted a 3-run home run.

Ramos called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

The win gives the Middies a record of 5-6.
