Grafton Middies starter António Marés was in fine form against the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at Field of the Middies, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Lynwood Matos closed the game out for Grafton, earning his 2nd save. Grafton, now 4-6, is off to a slow start.

Dave Ash, the 29 overall pick in the 2019 draft, aided the Grafton cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder was 2-4 with a double.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Marés told a Grafton News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
