The Houston 1837 BBC and Grafton Middies provided some drama at Houston Grounds.
Grafton used a superb performance from starting pitcher Wayne Hurst to down the Houston 1837 BBC, 8-0. The winning pitcher was Hurst, now 11-7. He tossed 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4.
Mario Ramos contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the third. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that propelled Grafton to the win.
"I had pretty much everything working," said Hurst.
Grafton now sits in 6th place in the Division II at 49-53.
