Multi-HR Day for Muńóz as Rangers Overpower Hotspur, 8-6
|
The Austin Rangers dealt the Phoenix Hotspur a 8-6 loss at Rangers Stadium. José Muńóz was the star on offense. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Austin reliever Angus Barlow, now 3-2. The loser was Scott William. Júlio Rodríguez recorded the save for Austin, his 23rd of the season.
Late in the game, right fielder Carlos Kramer had a big at-bat for Austin. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a 2-run double off Scott William. The play gave the Rangers a 7-5 lead.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Austin skipper Jordan Calhoun.
The Rangers own a robust 50-49 mark.
