Gold Sox Deal Middies 3-2 Setback

Gold Sox Field was the site of a tense game between the Grafton Middies and Chicago Gold Sox.
Getting an impressive start from Juan Júlio, Chicago beat Grafton by the score of 3-2. In 8 innings, Júlio surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Gordon Fry earned the save, his 4th.
In the bottom of the 7th, designated hitter Melvin Castro gave Chicago the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Gold Sox had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out double off Grafton pitcher Allen Yohemas changed that -- and Chicago went on to win.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Chicago manager Brett Reichert.
Chicago occupies 9th place in the Division II at 35-64.
