Multi-HR Day for Tanner as Express Overpower Gold Sox, 4-3
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Wizarding Express got the win.
The Wizarding Express trumped the Chicago Gold Sox, 4-3, at Platform 9 3/4. Wizarding left fielder Nathan Tanner was named player of the game for his performance. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Wizarding reliever Enrico Reséndez was credited with the win, to go to 5-3. Steve Sanders took the loss for Chicago. The save went to Travis Carson, his 10th this season.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the eighth when Tanner, who leads the SL with a 1.139 OPS, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Express into the lead, 4-3.
"I like the roll we're on," said Wizarding manager Dan Cahill.
Wizarding has now won 4 straight, while the Gold Sox have lost 3 in a row.
