Vásquez has 4 hit night, Leads Rangers to Win
|
Xavier Vásquez left his imprint on the 4-0 Austin win against the Grafton Middies. Vásquez, who is tied for 4th in the SL in doubles with 21, went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Lester Sullivan got the win, improving to 8-8. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and no runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Josh Cox, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Early in the game, Vásquez had a solo home run for Austin. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Rangers on top, 1-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Austin manager Jordan Calhoun.
The 5th-place Rangers are now 47-48, the Middies 47-48.
