Smith on Fire, 5-for-6 Against D.C. Saturday, September 21st, 2024 All game long Thunder Bay's David Smith was rattling the walls at Great Northern Field and banging out base hits against the D.C. Divided. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Northern Lions BC had a 14-2 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 26-year-old designated hitter said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." David Smith hit a solo-shot off José Alaniz in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. So far this year Smith is batting .337 with 23 home runs, 78 RBIs and 77 runs scored. |
