BBQ Too Hot to Handle for Valdéz

Hotspur starting pitcher Pedro Valdéz required medical attention yesterday after severely burning himself while barbecuing at his home. Valdéz suffered first and second degree burns when a flame from the grill he was using suddenly shot up his right arm. "It was a pretty scary scene," said teammate Jeff Burrell, who was with Valdéz when the accident occurred. "I thought it was going to totally engulf him for a moment." The fire also singed Pedro Valdéz's hair and eyebrows, but luckily failed to ignite the shirt he was wearing at the time. "It honestly could have been much worse," said Burrell. The injury will reportedly keep Valdéz out of action for anywhere from 3 weeks up to a month, but doctors expect the burns to fully heal.

SL News: Draft Pool Revealed

One of the few things certain about the 2024 first-year player draft is that it will be held 65 days from now. Today the SL announced its list of players filing for the event, though little is publicly known about any given player, sending scouts from each of the league's clubs scattering to uncover what they can in as little time as possible. Some clubs will draft the ideal prospect late, while others will stake their futures to big-name prospects, those deemed most likely to succeed by the fickle, nameless consensus.
A draft area has been created in the Transactions section for added functionality and will be available for 65 days prior to the draft.
The top players available (in no particular order) seem to be:
1. Rob Silva, 19 year-old RHP out of high-school.
2. Tony Robinson, 19 year-old RHP out of high-school.
3. Freddie Long, 20 year-old CF out of college.
4. Jeff MacDonald, 19 year-old RHP out of high-school.
5. Dave Ramírez, 20 year-old RHP out of college.
6. Ronald Graham, 22 year-old CF out of college.
7. Eric Foster, 23 year-old RHP out of college.
