Silver League Top Player Is Ramos Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 At the age of 22, Mario Ramos of the Grafton Middies could very well have his best years ahead of him. It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2023 was good enough to win the first baseman the Silver League Outstanding Hitter Award. "See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach." The top hitter put up a .348 batting average this year, as well as a .406 on-base percentage. He played 108 games and racked up 146 hits, 31 doubles, 2 triples, 30 home runs, 101 RBIs and 67 runs scored. Chad Armstrong of the Northern Virginia Retrievers finished second in voting, while Bob Heller of the Northern Virginia Retrievers finished third. |
