Northern Virginia's Mora Gets Outstanding Pitcher Award Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Javier Mora performed like a veteran on the hill for the Northern Virginia Retrievers and walked away with the Silver League Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process. The 24-year-old Retrievers star fashioned a 17-2 won-loss record in 2023 with a 1.40 ERA. In 167 innings of work and 23 starts, Mora struck out 188 while giving up 83 hits and 60 walks. He held opposing batters to a .147 average. Pedro Valdéz of the Phoenix Hotspur finished second in voting, while Lou Hartling of the Northern Virginia Retrievers finished third. |
