Atlanta No Match for Pittman
Tuesday, September 19th, 2023
"He was too darn good for us today," grumbled the Atlanta manager after his club suffered a 4-0 shutout at the hands of Alec Pittman of the Richardson City Thundercats. He held the Atlanta Smoke scoreless in a 5-hit whitewash.
Pittman was in a zone of his own most of the game and finished with 5 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
In a postgame quote his own skipper added, "He pitched his butt off, had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. Alec did a whale of a pitching job."
Thus far this season, Pittman has worked 147.2 innings with 113 strikeouts en route to a 8-8 record and a 3.47 ERA.
