PL News: Free Agents File

Today marks the start of the PL free agency period.
Clubhouses across United States Premier League were already abuzz with rumors as players began filing at midnight. They will be able to negotiate deals with any club in the league.
Once the first major signing is announced, teams will scramble to gobble up whatever talent they can reasonably get. The only thing that is certain is that there will be a lot of new faces in the clubhouses at the start of next season.
Media analysts expect the biggest news to center around a handful of free agents, including:
Iván Pérez, 33 year-old C
Yin-fat Foong, 33 year-old RH RP
Carlos Ortega, 30 year-old 1B
Lawrence Washington, 29 year-old SS
Michael Greene, 39 year-old LF
Pablo Trujillo, 31 year-old RF
Alan Elder, 28 year-old LF
John Wilkins, 37 year-old RH SP
Doug Reed, 31 year-old LF
Manuel Villarreal, 39 year-old DH

Coming off a season where he finished with a WAR of 3.8, Enrique Pérez is hoping to start a bidding war.
There is no shortage of teams that will be interested in the 32-year-old C, but only a few have the budget to truly contend for his services.
Pérez is hoping to play for a team truly pushing to win it all.
"I'd love to help propel my new team to a championship," he said.

PL News: Draft Pool Revealed

The speculation as to who will be the number one pick can now officially begin. Earlier today, United States Premier League published its list of players eligible for the annual rookie draft. For the next thirty days, scouts will be busy studying this untested talent in order to come up with a list of names to recommend that their clubs pursue. But just who those picks will be won't be known until the draft is conducted next month.
A section on the potential draftees has been added to the Transaction section of the BNN site, which will be available for 65 days before the draft takes place.
The top players available (in no particular order) seem to be:
1. Craig Whitney, 21 year-old RHP out of college.
2. Arthur Jones, 22 year-old RHP out of college.
3. Mark Wright, 18 year-old CF out of high-school.
4. Richard Allen, 19 year-old SS out of high-school.
5. David Brown, 19 year-old LHP out of high-school.
6. Paul Sims, 19 year-old RHP out of high-school.
7. Bill Pierce, 19 year-old RF out of high-school.
8. Richard Murdoch, 23 year-old RF out of college.
9. Richard Hilton, 18 year-old LHP out of high-school.
10. Curt Walker, 21 year-old 3B out of college.
