Riley K-Os Strikeout Record Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 "Long live the king" echoed throughout Ballpark of Northern Virginia today when Nathaniel Riley of the New Amsterdam Republics set a new mark for strikeouts in a single season, surpassing the old record held by Ryan Davis. The new strikeout king logged strikeout number 213 and put his name in the league record book. Speaking with the press after his epic, record-making game, Riley related,"I never set it as a goal to lead the league in strikeouts. My job isn't to strike guys out, it's to get them out, sometimes by striking them out." This year Riley has compiled a 12-4 mark with a 2.20 ERA. |
