Third League Top Pitcher Selected

The Kingston Township clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Shigemasa Horiuchi will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2020 Third League Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Horiuchi made 24 starts this year, winning 16 and losing 2. He threw 156.1 innings, fanned 162, allowed 108 hits and 37 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .194 average as he logged an impressive 1.55 ERA.
Lorenzo Sánchez of the Hartford Whalers finished second in voting, while Adrián Fierro of the Chicago Hawks finished third.
